Welcome lovely readers from around the world! *Waves to our readers in Brazil and India.* It’s commonly said, “variety is the spice of life” but to us, those addicted to a good story, whether it be complete, a work in progress, or a holiday-themed tale, variety is the spice of…reading!
I Belong With You has felt like my little baby over the last year and I can’t believe it’s time to hit the complete button! This story started out as a flashfic entry on the TLS blog, which won second place, and I loved writing it so decided to continue it.
The story mainly focuses on Bella who recently had her heart broken and moves away for school to try and fix it. I hope that the readers feel for her because everyone knows how it feels to end up in tears over a boy. I certainly can relate!
As an Edward/Bella fan I automatically thought of making the ex-boyfriend to be Edward, who had to work at getting Bella back. But the more the plot bunny developed, the more I saw the story going in a slightly different direction.
One thing I love about the story is we don’t know who the “ex” is. Most assumed it was Edward, but as the chapters continue you are left wondering. As the story develops you find out who the ex and nemesis actually are and what happened to make Bella want to move across the country to escape them.
She settles into school life, goes to parties, makes friends with her roommate, kisses a random stranger, and gets a job with said handsome stranger.
This is where my love for a sweet and romantic Edward comes in! I’m a sucker for reading romantic, fluffy stories and I wanted to write my own. Edward falls for Bella and tries to show her she’s better off without the ex and hopefully with him.
Bella is wary and they become friends first, although Edward is clear that he would be happy for more. Soon, Bella can’t really fight it and they begin to become more than friends.
What starts off as a story about betrayal and heartbreak, finishes as a story about true love.
I have loved writing every second of this story. Taking a Bella who was wary of friendships and relationships and writing the change that happened because of those around her. I hope that people can almost see a different Bella at the end of the story as they did in chapter one.
This has definitely been my favourite Edward to write. I am a sucker for smooth, confident, and romantic Edwards — the kind who open the door, pull out the seat, and kiss you softly on the forehead. They will always make me swoon.
To have reviewers nickname him “Swoonward” has definitely made me smile, and I love that people have enjoyed reading I Belong With You as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Summary: In those moments, I realize it’s over. Planning to follow you to the same college is not an option. I can’t be near you and watch you love another. With one last glance at my past, I turn and go back the way I came. I don’t see you turning around or the smile that falls from your face when you see me. Romance/Drama Rated: M Edward & Bella ~ Complete
We have to confess, but with a big, goofy smile, the FicSisters have a bit of a thing for intelligent, geeky Edwards.Ones who display a sense of quirky humour that makes us giggle and get us all a-flutter; those rare-as-hen’s-teeth Edwards, who are blessed with all those endearing qualities, are our Achilles’ heel – especially when they seem sweet to boot!
At only one chapter in, we’re already wanting more of Long Distance, by LyricalKris and myonlyheroin, as it brings us Scientiestward (Sigh!) from “jolly old England” and a lovely, smart Studentella. They connect through one of Bella’s college Professors and develop an online relationship, via email, while discussing her thesis.
And now, as we wait for the next update, we wonder…how long before their Doctor/Student relationship becomes…more, across the long distance.
Summary: Everyone knows about the dangers of the Internet, the liars and the creepers. But friendship can spark there and so can love. Edward and Bella met and fell despite the distance, but though his feelings were true, not everything he said was. Romance/Drama Rated: M Edward & Bella ~ WiP
My first thought when asked to do this, was a story that most haven’t read since it hits close to home for many readers. I changed my mind a few times, thinking that it would be for the best. Yet, I can’t bring myself to deny, I love Riley’s story or that it’s one of my favorites.
This is My Wish is about a little boy who has cancer and his wish that his mother will not be alone after he is gone. Single mother Bella struggles to keep it together when Riley’s request for someone in their past to become a part of their lives again. However, Edward hurt Bella when he tried to balance fame and a relationship with them in the past.
“I asked my mom do something for me,” he said warily. “She doesn’t want to do it, but it’ll give me the time I need.”
“I’m listening,” I said, patting his leg.
“You know I’ve never really had a Dad before,” he started, his eyes quickly darting to Bella’s face. She gave him a small watery smile and pulled his ear in response. He smiled at her and continued. “Grandpa Charlie had his hands full with my sick Grandma, and he didn’t live nearby. So I didn’t see him much, then he was gone.”
I squeezed his little toe on one of his over-sized feet. I had known this, having met Charlie on more than one occasion before his death. “Then, of course, there’s no one in my mom’s life to take the place of my dad. It’s my fault that she’s alone,” he said. Bella gasped, holding her hand over her mouth in shock. He turned to her again. “Sorry, Momma.”
She shook her head and wrapped her arms around him. “Don’t ever think that,” she whispered. “It’s not your fault, it’s mine. I’m not alone, I have you.”
“No, you’re not alone, for now,” Riley whispered, closing his eyes briefly. They slowly opened to watch me for a moment. “I want do all the things a son would do with his dad. I need your help, Edward.”
“Anything, Sport,” I said, smiling gently.
“I want you to pretend to be my dad, for as long as I live.”
The rest of the tale is about this trio becoming a family and the struggles they face in the spotlight and with cancer.
Coming up with the idea was pure chance. The Rascal Flatts song with a similar title was on the stereo, I was writing a check out to the Make a Wish Foundation, remembering my cousin and one of the kids at the local children’s hospital I met years earlier. Inspired by the lyrics and those remarkable children, the idea came to me.
I chose NOT to write it at the time, but I shared it with a friend who said I had to. I kept putting it off, and when Fandom Gives Back came around, she donated and asked me to write it in return. I don’t regret it and thank her often for giving the push. From those that read it, they said they laughed, cried, and loved Riley as much I did.
Summary: Dear Wishes for You, My name is Riley Biers and I’m nine years old. Soon, very soon I’ll leave behind my mom because I have terminal cancer. I write to you today and this is my wish… Rated: M Family/Angst Edward & Bella ~ Complete

DanielleTwiLover: Cotton Belt by thisisreallyhappening This story starts out so amazingly rich in characters and you fall in love with them right away. You get a feel for the town and how Cotton (Bella) is a small town girl who falls for a dirty, snarky boy Rowdy (Edward). I can’t tell you how much I love it and enjoy the daily updates. It’s one of those fics you fall in love with from the very first chapter. I’m excited to see where it’s headed.
Summary: I won’t supposed to fall in love, especially with a boy like him. But when it happened, I took the whole damn town down with me. I soon figured out, falling was the easy part. Romance/Angst Rated: M Edward& Bella WiP

Our thanks to Blu_Voodoo, DanielleTwiLover and SexyRedBoots, (we love that name) for sharing these favourite stories with us.
Remember the early days of rivalry between Team Edward and Team Jacob? Well, move over Jacob, because in SaritaDreaming’s latest story, The Masks We Wear, there’s a new team in town.
In the first chapter, mysteriously entitled, Fingerpaint and Screaming Ovaries, (yes, you read that correctly) we have the pleasure of meeting Bella. She’s a darling–although, words like snarky, funny, and hard-working also apply. It’s a little later when we discover she is wearing a mask; sadly, we don’t mean the happy sparkling kind one don’s to a fancy- schmancy ball.
She runs into Edward Cullen—known in our ever-so-slightly pervy minds as Fingerpaintingtitward—and can’t help but find him “awkward with a capital AWK”. Now, since this story started out life as an entry in the Wonkyward contest, our visual is more of a loveable, adorkable man. Don’t judge! And, to be honest, once Bella gets to know him, she is also very drawn to his sweet nature.
So now on to the second part of the chapter title—*enter stage left* Anthony Masen; a.k.a. Zorro, in our minds and in the story. This character is undoubtedly suave, confident, and disarming. Bella is immediately captivated by him–see mention of screaming ovaries above. He is a mask-wearing character as well. Although, we mean that in the literal sense this time; but, is there a deeper meaning and purpose behind his theatrical reason for wearing it?
So, have you decided yet if you are Team Edward or Team Anthony? At this stage, Bella finds herself torn between two…role players, as she likes them both for different reasons. However, dear readers, we suspect you have copped it–Bella can have her cake and eat it. 😉
Read this a/n: “I’m not trying to hide anything from the reader in this story, just Bella. My inspiration for the male lead(s) of this story is Rob himself. He’s British, awkward, and sweet but plays many American, intense, sex-on-legs parts in the movies. Needless to say, I’ve had plenty of fodder for my overactive imagination to sop up.”
Following that statement, we just had to ask Saritadreaming, to declare herself…
I’m definitely Team Edward. Anthony is hot, suave, and sexy, but he’s so controlled. It’s all an act, and even Bella herself knows it on some level and begins to crave Edward’s company more and more. Edward is hot in his own right–despite hiding behind those crazy orange sneakers and wild print shirts. He speaks freely, is distinctly human/endearingly flawed, and does funny shit without meaning to. I’ve experienced both types of men in my life, and I find the “Edward” type to be way more attractive and fun. Who wants to be with someone who orchestrates every moment?
Mmmh…interesting! You know what you need to do? Get reading The Masks We Wear to see if you agree.
Delinquents (Dusty 2) is the follow up to Innocents, the review of which you can see here. It continues from where the first book left off, when Thomas–the eponymous Dusty–finally succumbed to the siren call of cocaine and left his home on a bender.
As well as his family, he also left Bliss behind–the girl who first stole his heart when they met as children, and with whom he’s been having a secret affair. And as the book progresses, and his relationship with both Bliss and cocaine deepen, we see Thomas struggle to be everything his girlfriend needs, whilst tumbling into the spiral of addiction.
I think I said in my review of the first book that this story isn’t for the faint-hearted. And if that book was angst-filled and raw, well it was a walk in the park compared to this one. There’s a realism to this story that both touches your heart and devastates your soul. It’s watching two people you love systematically destroy each other.
As with the first book, the writing is poetic and beautiful, yet it’s like silk covering a dagger, barely shielding the reader from the brutal tragedy of a love doomed by drugs. It’s honest and it’s real, but it’s heart-breaking too. More than once I found myself having to stop reading long enough to let my heart rate calm down.
This is tragedy in it’s purest form: a hero with a fatal flaw that causes not only his downfall but also brings those he loves down with him. Yet there’s romance too, a twisted kind of love that not only binds Thomas to his Bliss, but also to his mother and sister, both of whom are affected by his addiction. It’s a powerful narrative of love and neglect, and a wake-up call for parents of teenagers everywhere.
Delinquents isn’t an easy read, but nor should it be. It is, however, a worthwhile read, and one that will linger in your thoughts and make your heart ache long after you’ve read the final words. For that reason alone I recommend it to anybody who likes their heroes flawed, their story lines angst-filled and for the authors to keep it real.
Ladies, ladies, ladies…read these fabulous opening lines of You Are Here by the lovely bicyclesarecool…
“You better be calling me to say that you are all packed up and ready to be back here in a week,” Alice sings into the phone. I laugh nervously.
“About that…” I trail off and I can hear her suck in a breath.
“My wedding is in twenty days Isabella Swan and I am not about to stress eat another carton of ice cream,” she warns and I sigh. Alice has always been an anal-retentive nutcase but this wedding has turned her into something much worse—something much scarier. So I’m calling her now, metaphorical tail between my legs as I lay on the sidewalk outside of my apartment, cursing whatever god has done this disservice to me.
“The truck is dead,” I say slowly, cringing with every word.
“No!” she gasps. “Bella, I’ve been telling you for years to get rid of that thing!”
“I know,” I groan, staring at the rusting metal of my beloved truck as it’s being towed away for good. The engine is caput and I can’t afford a new one.
I can’t really afford anything at the moment, hence my call to Alice.
“I can’t get on a plane—I don’t have the money for that. And I have to get all my stuff back to Seattle.”…
…”Bella? Are you even listening to me?” Alice’s irritation brings me back to the situation at hand.
“I’m sorry, what?” I ask and she tsk’s at me.
“I may have a plan, I’ll call you back.”
Can we just say here, not only do we love this story already, but we also love Alice and her plan!
Straight from those enticing opening lines, we signed up for the journey in the literal and metaphorical sense, as it was obvious we’d stumbled upon the good fortune of taking a cross-country road trip with Edward Cullen. *rubs hands gleefully together* Bella, however, does not appear to be sharing in our delight. It seems she has a long history with Edward…hmmmm. Don’t make any assumptions just yet, though, as we have a funny feeling this fic is anything but predictable.
We asked the delightful bicyclesarecool about her inspiration; here’s what she told us:
Inspiration wise, it’s all music. I don’t know what it is but I’ll be listening to a song and I’ll be hit with a conversation or a scene. I was listening to a song called “south dakota (remastered)” by magic man and it was just: a roadtrip, reconnecting. And it all kind of just came at once–I literally haven’t stopped jotting down notes and writing conversations for weeks. I hope to make these characters likeable and full because they’re already very important to me in what they’ve gone through and what they will go through over the course of the story.
bicyclesarecool’s plan has obviously worked as we’ve already got all the feels for the our travelling companions. We’re going to be backseat watching their every move…perhaps munching on popcorn while listening to the chapter’s “mixtape”- but definitely enjoying the ride.
Listen to the song that got us all on this road trip: here
Summary: A cross country road trip with Edward Cullen? Not exactly at the top of Bella’s to do list, but she’s out of options and he’s got a working truck. Can they put the past aside and make it through the week? Rated M just in case. AH OCC Romance/Humor Bella & Edward ~ Complete
When the story begins, Edward Cullen is not technically “Stealing Bella” but he is taking from her, for his own selfish purposes, to pay a debt owed by her sister…
“What are you waiting for?” . . .
“I’m just wondering if seducing my enemy’s sister-in-law will have quite the same satisfaction as seducing his wife.” He whispered, his breath hot across her neck as she struggled against him, fighting to be free him.
“Fuck you,” she bit back, her eyes shining with a passionate anger that he relished. it looked beautiful on her.
He smiled slowly, on corner of his mouth lifting higher than the other as trepidation filled her eyes. “That’s exactly the point, Bella.”
And what a point it is, and it only grows from that enticing Preface…
We know we’re being vague about how the plot develops, but that is on purpose; to leave the impact of the punches and twists, to you, the reader. Stealing Bella has proven to be a consuming and complex story that evokes strong emotions and takes many unexpected and different turns, for all the characters. Because of that, it’s difficult to avoid giving spoilers, about the powerful “The Bastard Cullen” and his “ruined face” and his far-from-perfect extended family. But, one thing’s for sure, this story will “steal” your interest, and had us running to read updates. It’s definitely one not to miss!
Summary: To repay a debt owed by her sister, Isabella Swan must spend seven nights in the bed of the scarred and scandalous Edward Cullen, her family’s greatest enemy. Romance/Angst Rated: M B&E ~ Complete
